Adam Levine ID Perfumes Premier Fragrance Event
A short abstract film, created to accompany Adam Levine's ID Perfumes product launch. Commonwealth Projects was commissioned by ID Perfumes to conceptualize an interactive installation for their effervescent new scent. Inspired by the idea of creating a large-scale installation on such an ephemeral concept and by the refinement of perfume as a cultural entity, the challenge was to create an elegant experience. After choosing a venue, environments were designed and fabricated depicting the fragrance’s three prominent notes, which allowed guests to move through a physical representation of the scent in three stages. Collateral for the event was then designed and produced, including scent-infused concert wristbands, customized t-shirts, and VIP badges. The aesthetic of the project was culled from the fragrance’s inspirations: music and the spirit and history of Los Angeles.
The J Paul Getty Medal 2014_ Lord Rothschild
Scored for Commonwealth Projects for The J. Paul Getty Trust. This also included an Overture that played prior to the films screening during the Award Ceremony. In 2014, Commonwealth Projects was commissioned by the Getty Trust to create a short film that highlights the contributions of Lord Jacob Rothschild. We spent roughly four months researching, developing a script, establishing the creative direction, producing shoots in New York and London, and editing the final piece. The seven-minute film includes an original score and a dynamic editing style that utilizes motion graphics and re-imagines a familiar format. Graphic elements cut into the frame to reveal other footage, symbolize narrative content through graphic treatments, and transition between interviews, B-roll, and archival footage. The approach mixes aesthetics, technologies, and typologies from the past and present. The all encompassing vision creates a dynamic and coherent film.
